In this participatory, hands-on class you will examine the legal issues in transferring other’s stitching patterns (embroidery, Sashiko, etc) to your own works and explore multiple ways of doing the transfer (stencil, light pad tracing, adhesive transfers, and drawing grids). You will take home 4 designs on fabric ready to stitch own your own.

Level: Beginner

Non-Members: $60

Materials fee: $25 (collected at time of workshop)

Materials provided by instructor:  Handout packet; transfer and marking tools; adhesive transfers; cotton-linen

Students should bring: Ruler and scissor
