Local Cloth is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to growing the fiber supply chain in Western North Carolina and enhancing the lives of those who make their living in fiber industries.

Mission: To support and sustain the regional fiber and textile arts economy and professions in the Blue Ridge Mountains through collaboration, education and innovation.

Vision: To grow the fiber economy in the southern Appalachian region within 100 miles of the project’s Asheville headquarters, focusing on craft artists, fiber animal farmers and small scale fiber mills and processing businesses.

Our Approach

  • To increase access to, and availability of, local textiles and fiber
  • To strengthen the economic viability of our local creative community and help reinvest in the textile industry
