Ever been curious about where our local fiber comes from? Come chat with our special guest farmers, Elke & Cheryl, to learn more about their experience with raising sheep. Come prepared to shop from their local fiber products fresh from the farm!

Elke Amenda-Spirakis is the owner of Wellspring Farm in Burnsville, North Carolina where she raises Jacob, Tunis and Merino sheep along with llamas and one alpaca, Indy, who runs the place. Wellspring Farm offers rovings, combed top, yarn and finished goods from the yearly fiber harvest. Elke has been a hand spinner for 30 years. She grew up knitting and crocheting, and loved finding ways to be creative. Elke also enjoys dyeing, wet felting, and needle felting, and loves to host tours and workshops on the farm.

Cheryl Johnson is a 40-year fiber enthusiast, spinner and knitter. She is a certified humane sheep shearer, and believes that producing wool with the sheep's well-being is her first priority. Her goal and love is to provide beautiful fibers in a sustainable way, that inspire artistic creations for all fiber lovers!

Spinners--bring your wheels as we continue to spin together for the Tour de Fleece!
