Learn to weave pictures and shapes on a simple frame loom using classic tapestry weaving techniques. In this follow up to the intro class offered in February, we will start with warping a frame tapestry loom. It is NOT necessary to have taken the Tapestry Weaving intro class to participate in this one. Once the looms are warped and prepped for weaving, we will split the group up based on experience. Beginners will learn basic techniques, like meet-and-separate, hatching and weaving diagonals, while those ready to move on will explore design, working with cartoons and building shapes. Participants will take warped looms home to continue practicing.

Participants may bring their own tapestry looms or rent one of ours for a small fee. Those renting looms will be asked to return them within the next month. A $25 (cash or check) loom rental fee will be refunded when loom is returned. If you would like purchase or build a tapestry loom before this class, contact instructors for suggestions.
