If you have worked stranded or Fair Isle knitting patterns, you know the joy of working color and design together in a rhythm that can be satisfying and well as addictive. In this class, we will use a fingerless mitts pattern to explore working a stranded design in the round in a small circumference. The class pattern offers a 5-inch cuff of stranded colorwork, The body and thumb are worked in a solid color with a bit of colorwork before the final rib to finish the pattern. During the class, we will cover various methods of knitting small circumferences in the round, the “kiss of color” ribbing edge, adding a side thumb, and getting gauge in both colorwork and single-color stockinette when both are found in the pattern. Students interested in this class should be familiar with Stranded Colorwork/Fair Isle knitting.
