For our February meeting our group member Rebecca Wallace will be showing us a way to print with leaves that does not require heat and gives immediate results.

One way to get leaf prints on fabric is using a handmade palm press.  This hand friendly device was used in a nature printing class locally and the parts will be available to make your own.  Leaves that are already soaked as you would for eco-printing and alum mordanted cotton or silk are needed.  The colors will only be the product of alum and iron, not the range you get in an eco-print.  There will be some fresh sage and columbine presoaked leaves and alum cotton fabric provided, but feel free to bring your own to print with.  The supplies for each palm press, which you can keep, are $8.25

Looking forward to exploring color with you.
