At the age of 7, I sewed and knitted--a budding fiber artist. I have enjoyed being challenged by a number of fiber techniques and processes. I currently concentrate on making garments, some woven but mainly felted. I love that they can be appreciated by the wearer and the public.
My total education and background is varied, but I am a certified Home Economics teacher and most recently graduated from Haywood Community  College’s program In Professional Crafts - Fiber. While I worked many years as an engineer, I maintained my interest in anything fiber and developed a hand-dyed fiber and yarn business.
Currently I exhibit at juried local and international shows. I love the challenge of creating something new and different. As a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, I sell through its store and craft shows.
I enjoy sharing my love of fiber through teaching.  I have taught at SAFF, SEFF, Handweaver’s Guild of America’s Convergence and MAFA. One of my felted dresses recently placed first in HGA’s fashion show. What an honor.   The most satisfying part of teaching is seeing the look on students' faces when they accomplish something they thought was totally impossible.
